1985 Baja build

About Me

A VW air-cooled enthusiast since the early 1980's, originally trained as a Technical Illustrator to HND standard (with Design and Photography modules). I built my first Baja when 15 and drove it for the next 6 years while attending the first 6 BugJams (www.bugjam.co.uk). Then took a side step into flat four Alfa's before returning to the VW scene and a passion for drag racing.

Having worked for Boss Trucks and BAE as an illustrator, I moved into design and large format print. I became Studio Manager at a local design house before starting my own business. I then sold Evolution Designs UK Ltd after 8 years of trading and moved back into middle management within large format print and graphic design, however, I always wanted to try working with classic cars. I was made redundant from Preview Design whilst working in marketing and project management; this was the impetus I needed to try something different for a while!

In Aug 2010 I started working for Panelkraft as the mechanic! The work was varied and every day was different, I learnt so much in the 2 years that I spent there, I currently help to maintain the Facebook and Web pages. I also designed the Panelkraft logo. Find some of their superb work on the links page.

2013 brought another change of direction and a move into technology within a middle school. I've been trained to use a wealth of workshop machinery from lathes to 3D printers. Working within school term time also gives me more opportunity to work on the odd commission and of course 'the Hun'!

2013 'The Hun' with a 152bhp street engine, ran a best of 13.72 at Santa Pod. I've recently installed a 2276cc turbo motor, keep watching!
